Privacy policy

• From Google when you sign in: your name, email address and profile photo.
• What you add: the name and photo on your profile, and the activities you say you are into. If you ask to host with us: what you would run, where, and the phone number you give so we can reach you. If you buy a pass or pay for an event by UPI: the 12-digit UPI reference you give us. If you choose to add your Instagram handle, people who were checked in at the same events as you can see it; you can remove it at any time. If you were checked in at an event, the pictures you add to it, which are shown to the other people checked in at that event.
• What you do in the app: the events you join or leave, the series you follow, check-ins at events, whether a paid event you joined has been paid for, the messages you write in an event's chat, the ratings you give, the people you block, and any report you send us about someone. If you buy a pass or are given credit, we keep your credit balance, when it expires and what it was used for. We also keep the streaks and milestones worked out from the events you go to, and use them to suggest events that fit you. To send notifications we store a token for each phone you are signed in on.

We do not collect your location, contacts or card and bank details. Paid events are paid by UPI or with your prepaid credit, never through us holding your card or bank details, and the app has no advertising or tracking tools in it.

The camera is used only to scan a check-in code at an event; nothing it sees is saved or sent. Your photo library is opened only when you choose a new profile photo, and only the photo you pick is uploaded. Notifications, if you allow them, are about events you joined, series you follow and credit on your account; they are sent through Google's Firebase service, which receives the phone's token. If you tap Near me in the place picker, the app asks for your approximate location once, works out the nearest city on your phone, and does not send the location to us. Putting an event on an Instagram story only checks that Instagram is installed; nothing is sent to us.

• Signed-in people can see the name and photo of everyone going to an event.
• Our managers can see who has joined, paid and been checked in, and can remove chat messages and event pictures that break the rules.
• Your email address, your interests and the series you follow are visible only to you.
• We do not sell your information or share it with advertisers. It is stored on our own server and handled by our own staff.

For as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, your profile, photo, places at events and follows are removed from our server straight away. Backups are overwritten within 30 days.

One exception, to keep events safe: if other people have reported you, or a host has removed you from a chat, we keep your email address, those reports and that removal, and any payment still owed to a host. Everything else is removed in the same way. This is so that someone cannot be reported, delete their account and come straight back.

In the app: open your profile, tap Delete account, then confirm. If you cannot open the app, see how to ask us to delete it.
